Carrie has a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology Human Performance and is currently working towards her Graduate Degree through Marquette University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
She has previously worked as a Rehabilitation Technician in an outpatient clinic providing care for individuals of all ages within the community.
WHY THE MENTAL HEALTH FIELD?
Carrie has always been interested in the field of psychology and took more psychology courses than required for her degree during undergrad. However, when the pandemic hit and she was working in a hospital, she was caring for people that were struggling with their mental health and simply craving connection. This opened her eyes to the 'mental health pandemic' and vast need of improvement to mental health access. Carrie’s time spent with those patients in the hospital is what ultimately made her decide to switch career paths and apply to a graduate program for clinical mental health counseling.
Outside of work you could find Carrie reading, having lake days, or hiking with her husband and puppy. She enjoys reality TV competition shows and is a big fan of pasta!
