EXPERIENCE

Selena is a compassionate and dedicated Service Array Provider at RTS for 5+ years. With a broad range of experience working with individuals from various backgrounds, including those with disabilities and in restorative justice programs, Selena approaches client care with empathy and a holistic mindset. She is passionate about helping people navigate challenges, develop self-esteem, and empower themselves to create lasting, positive change.

EDUCATION

Selena earned her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, a foundation that, combined with her diverse professional experiences, allows her to make a significant impact in the lives of those she serves.

SPECIALTY AREAS

At RTS, Selena works with teens through the Individual Skill Development Enhancement program, helping them overcome obstacles and make positive choices. She uses various tools, including the Hope Curriculum, self-esteem development exercises, and journaling, to engage clients in meaningful growth and self-discovery. Selena loves the energy and transformation that comes with this age group, particularly as they near adulthood. “What I love most about working with teens is their sense of possibility and the fresh start they’re on the verge of,” she shares. “Despite the struggles they’ve faced, I’m inspired by their ability to see and embrace the opportunities before them. It's incredible to witness how they push through barriers, discover their strengths, and begin to shape their futures as they approach independence.”

WHY THE MENTAL HEALTH FIELD?

Selena’s own mental health experiences have deeply shaped her approach to client care, allowing her to connect with clients on a personal level and offer the empathy and support they need. She finds fulfillment in seeing her clients evolve, as they begin to embrace the possibilities and potential within themselves.

PERSONAL

When she’s not working, Selena enjoys being outdoors, kayaking, and spending time with family and friends.

AVAILABILITY

Selena provides services in office, in home, in school, or within the community Monday - Thursday. Selena's schedule is currently full, but she is accepting clients for her waitlist. The estimated wait time is 2-4 weeks.
